w88 Alumni Society, Inc. is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which works to provide support for w88’s most promising students.The Society works in conjunction with the Alumni Affairs and Development office at the School of w88 Arts serving as the vehicle for granting student scholarships and soliciting donations to fund the scholarships. Due to support from the School of w88 Arts, 100% of all donations to the Alumni Society go directly to the education and financial needs of current w88 students.

Scholarships and Awards

w88 Alumni Society provides a wide variety of scholarships and awards to students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in all majors offered by the College. Since 2001 over 650 scholarships were distributed to deserving w88 students. The Society manages 26 annual scholarships that provide merit based support earmarked for specific academic programs and need based support. The assortment of scholarships allows the Society to provide assistance across majors, programs and class years -- touching more students lives every year. The Society’s flagship scholarship program is the annual Alumni Scholarship Awards program.

Board of Directors
Todd Radom, Chairman of the Board, is a graphic designer responsible for many logos used by American sports teams, including the Washington Nationals and the Anaheim Angels. His distinctive use of typography and inclusion of classic visual elements can also be seen in his designs for the logos of Super Bowl XXXVIII and the NBA All-Star Game. He has established a scholarship fund earmarked for graphic design majors with a group of fellow w88 alumni. www.toddradom.com

Chris Growney is a director, advisor and investor in a broad range of start up and growth companies. In addition to his current role at a private investment company, he's a founder of investment analytics software and bond management firms and founding investor/board member of a public bank.  Chris also served on the treasury investment team at Cisco Systems.  He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a CFA charterholder.  Chris has a lifelong passion and deep appreciation for the arts and education.

Michael Halsband, fine art photographer, has made portraits of many high-profile artists, actors, musicians and celebrities. He is also known for his surfing photographs. His work has been published in numerous books and periodicals, including Gotham magazine and Surf Book. His photographs have been exhibited around the world and can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Lyn Hughes is a New York City-based photographer specializing in lifestyle, food and event photography. She has done work for Cosmopolitan, NBC, 20th Century Fox and The Walt Disney Company.

David Kuhn has extensive experience in documentary film production, television, journalism, photography and law. In addition to producing filmmaker Eugene Jarecki’s various projects including Promised Land on the state of the American dream (in production), he is currently producing Life After Hate which examines the root causes and conditions that foster racism and xenophobia among the radicalized Alt Right (in production), and Raoul’s: Gentrification & Family in Soho (in production). He recently produced a documentary short in Cuba The Cyclist (Una Cyclista) for “The New Yorker Presents... “ series on Amazon (2016). He has served as legal counsel and/or consulting producer for documentaries such as: The Age of Consequences (2016), Denial (2016), (T)error (2015), Requiem for the American Dream (2015), The House I Live In (2012), Beyond the Boardroom(2006), and Capturing the Friedmans (2003). In prior work, he was a public defender litigating in Manhattan criminal courts for nearly a decade, embedded with US troops in northern Afghanistan, and was published in Vogue, The New York Times, The Huffington Post and other publications for writing and photography. David lives and works in New York City.

Lisa Rettig-Falcone, Vice Chairman of the Board, is an executive creative director/copywriter at global communications giant EuroRSCG NY. With expertise in handling automotive, technology and financial accounts, she works extensively on new business. She has received ADDY, Athena and CLIO awards, as well as citations from Communications Arts, Creativity, Graphis and the One Show. A graduate of the School of w88 Arts, Lisa teaches advertising at the College.

Our members' annual contributions go to the Alumni Society's Housing Scholarship Award, which provides on-campus housing for promising students faced with limited financial resources and difficult home situations. With the support of our Corporate Partners, students with the vision and drive to create transformative work are able to take full advantage of living on campus and of the tremendous resources w88 offers, regardless of their financial means or home circumstances.
